Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn left onto Garnsey. Right on Turk, then left on Steele. Turn right at the top of Steele and head down Baker. Turn right on Valentown, then at High St, turn left (yes – turn left). Turn right on Willowbrook, right on Rowley, then right on 96 followed by a left on Benson. Turn right on Fishers, then left on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 12.2 miles.

October 11, 2025– Springhouse Run

Head out the canal towards Pittsford. In the village, go past the railroad trestle and turn right into the Town Highway Department drive. Pick up the trail on the left that will connect over to the Auburn Trail. Cross over French and follow the trail until you are across the street from the Springhouse Commons. Cross over 31 and pick up the old Erie Canal Trail that runs behind Wegmans. Follow this back across French Rd and connect back with the Barge Canal, and follow the canal all the way back to the Basin. Distance is 11.6 miles.

For around 8 miles, on the Auburn Trail take the nature trail option on the left shortly after you get on the Auburn Trail. The nature trail will take you back to the canal

Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn right on Park Rd. Turn left on East, then right on Van Voorhis. Turn left on Pittsford-Mendon Rd, then turn right on Canfield. Turn left on West Bloomfield. Take a left onto Smith, followed by a right on Mile Square. Turn right on Probst, then left on Railroad Mills. Turn right on Woolston followed by a left on Corduroy and a right on Park Rd. A left on 96 will bring you back to the parking lot. Distance is 12.3 miles

September 27, 2025 – Into and Around Pittsford

Head out the canal towards Pittsford.

Take the trail around the soccer fields, which will bring you back to the canal.

Then take the Auburn trail on the right just past the flood control gate.

Cross over Mitchell, then cross over Rt. 31.

Turn right on the sidewalk trail that parallels Rt. 31.

Turn left onto Marsh, then a left onto the old Trolley Trail.

Follow the Trolley Trail thru the Highlands at Pittsford and come out back to 31.

Turn right on 31, then right onto the canal at Schoen Place.

Turn right on 96/N. Main St, then right on Washington.

Turn left on Cranswick Lane.

Bear left to stay on Cranswick, passing by Landsdown Lane.

You will come up on Landsdown Lane a second time – cross over to pick up the Wynd Woods Trail, almost straight across from Cranswick on Landsdowne Lane (a little to the right)

Take the trail over to St. John Fisher taking right options.

Turn around and continue to take right options to get back out on a slightly different path – return to Landsdowne Lane – and take a right.

Turn left on 96, then turn left onto the canal at Schoen Place and return to the parking lot.

Consider turning left under the power line to return along the Auburn Trail and also consider another trip on the trails around the soccer fields

If you cut out the loop around Highlands by turning left on 31 as you come out from the Auburn trail, you will shorten the distance by 1.5 miles.

If you cut out the loop starting at Schoen Place, you will shorten the route by 2.5 miles.

You can add distance by heading west on the canal when you return from the Wynd Woods loop. Clover is 1.5 miles from Schoen Place, so plan accordingly.

September 20, 2025 – Gillis Rd

All routes – turn left out of the parking lot and head up 96 to the Mall. Turn left onto High St Extension and then left onto High St.

For 12.1 miles – from High St, turn left on Gillis, then left on Cobble Creek Rd. Take the first two right turns to continue on Cobble Creek Rd. Turn left on Egypt Victor Rd, then left on Valentown. Turn right to head up Baker, then left on Steele. Cross over Turk Hill and continue on Beauclaire. Turn right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill, then left on Garnsey. Turn right on 96 and return to the parking lot.

The traditional Fishers Run, from the parking lot is 9.5 miles – Turn left onto 96, right on Park Rd. Turn left on Corduroy, and then left on Woolston. Turn right on Fishers Rd, then left on Main St. Fishers. Turn left on Log Cabin, then right on Lower Fishers, and then left on Benson. Turn right on Fishers Rd, then return thru Powder Mills Park (left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd) Turn left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

You can skip Lower Fishers by staying on Log Cabin. This shortens any route by 1 mile.

September 6, 2025 – Bromsgrove Hill Cul-de-Sac and others

Turn right out of the parking lot. Turn left onto Thornell. Take Thornell until you get to the traffic light – turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd. Turn left on Bromgrove Hill. At the end of the cul-de-sac, pick up the pedestrian path. This will take you over to Sunrise Park.

At the next intersection, turn left to stay on Sunrise Park. This will bring you to Van Voorhis. Turn right on Van Voorhis, followed by a left on Pittsford Mendon Rd. Then take a left on Hedgewood Lane. Look for a pedestrian path between two houses – take the pedestrian path. This will take you over to Wren Field. Turn left on Wren Field, then take the pedestrian path at the end of the cul-de-sac over to Van Voorhis. Turn right on Van Voorhis. Then turn right on East/Mile Square. Turn left on Probst, the left on Railroad Mills. Turn right on Woolston, then left on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, then left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

Distance is 12.1 miles.

August 30, 2025 – Crescent Trail or Turk Hill and Moseley

For the Crescent Trail -turn right out of the parking lot, then right on Kreag Rd. Pick up the Crescent Trail behind the church on the right. Take the Crescent Trail over to Garnsey, cross over and continue on the trail. When you are half tired, turn around and return to the start.

For the Road routee – Turn left out of the parking lot, and head towards the mall on 96. Turn left onto Woodcliff, then turn right on Moseley. Turn left onto Neuchatel. Turn left on Beauclaire, then a left on Turk Hill.

Stay on Turk Hill all the way to Winding Brook Drive – almost all the way to the village of Fairport. Then turn left on Moseley, and take Moseley to Garnsey. Turn right on Garnsey then right on 96 and return to the parking lot. Distance is 12.5 miles.

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Take the pedestrian bridge across the canal after you pass Turk Hill, which puts you on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.

For 10.3 miles, turn right on Ayrault Rd, then return to the basin on the canal.
