February 2, 2019 –The Fishers Run


Post Run Coffee – The Village Bakery and Café at Eastview Mall.

Given that Saturday morning is still cold – I thought something a little sheltered would be in order – and the Fishers Run seemed like a good plan.

The traditional Fishers Run, from the parking lot is 9.5 miles – Turn left onto 96, right on Park Rd.  Turn left on Corduroy, and then left on Woolston.  Turn right on Fishers Rd, then left on Main St. Fishers.  Turn left on Log Cabin, then right on Lower Fishers, and then left on Benson.  Turn right on Fishers Rd, then return thru Powder Mills Park (left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd)  Turn left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

Note: You can skip the Lower Fishers option by staying on Log Cabin. This shortens any route by 1 mile.

You can skip Powder Mills Park on the way back by staying on Fishers Rd to 96. This shortens any route by 0.5 miles

For 7.5 miles – take 96 directly to Fishers Rd. Left on Main St. Fishers, then left on Log Cabin. Stay on Log Cabin, then left on Benson, right on Fishers Rd, then left on 96.

For 12.5 miles – start with the standard route. At Main St. Fishers, turn right, then take a left on Old Dutch. Turn left on 251, left on Wangum, then right on Main St Fishers, and rejoin the standard route.

January 26, 2019 – Calkins Rd


Post Run Coffee Location – Tim Hortons

Head out to the canal – take the canal towards Pittsford.  Take the old train bed trail on the right after crossing the bridge over to Mitchell – turn left and cross over the canal to Rt. 96. Turn left on 96, then right on Crestview.  At the second intersection with Hilltop – turn left, then left on S. Main St.  Continue straight on Pittsford Mendon Center Rd.  At a four way intersection continue going straight on Calkins Rd.  Turn left on Clover, then left on Willard.  Turn right on Mendon Rd., then left on Barker.  Turn right on W. Bloomfield, then left on Thornell.  Follow Thornell all the way back to the basin, then 96 back to the parking lot.  Distance is 11.6 miles.

For 7.2 miles –  When you get to 96 and Mitchell, turn left on 96, then take a right on East. Turn right on Mill Rd, then a left on Thornell leads you back to the basin and a right on 96 returns you to the parking lot.

For 9.5 miles – at the intersection with Calkins, turn left to continue on Mendon Center Rd.  Turn left on Barker and continue as above.

For 13.7 miles – on Calkins – continue heading west until you get to Pittsford Henrietta Townline Rd – turn left.  Then turn left on Lehigh Station Rd.  Turn left on Clover, then right on Willard and continue back following the 11.6 mile route.  Distance is 13.7 miles.

Other longer options-

For 15.8 miles – stay on Calkins to a left on Pinnacle and left on Lehigh Station Rd.

For 17.8 miles – stay on Calkins to a left on E. Henrietta Rd and a left on Lehigh Station.

For 20.4 miles – stay on Calkins to a left on Middle Rd and a left on Lehigh Station.

January 19, 2019 – Linear Park Run


Post-Run Meeting Place – Cindy Ingalls’ home – Cindy has offered to host this weekend, so the plan is to meet at her house following the run. Cindy will give directions at the start of the run. Come as you are after your run!

Head out the canal path towards Fairport.  Exit the canal onto O’Connor.  Turn left on Whitney.  Whitney will turn into Five Mile Line Rd.  Turn left on Rt. 441, then left into Linear Park.  Cross over Irondequoit Creek and head up the hill.  Turn left on Lincoln Mills, left on Linden then right on Bluff.  Turn left into Eyer Park.  Take the trail over to Midvale – turn left.  Turn right on Baird, left into BOCES, then take the trail around the back.  Turn right on O’Connor and then right on the canal and back to the basin.  Distance is 13.5 miles.

For 11.8 miles, turn left on Linden from Whitney and then left on Bluff Dr., rejoining the main route

For 9.2 miles – on Whitney – turn left on Baird, then left into BOCES, rejoining the main trail

For 7.5 miles – run the canal until you get to O’Connor, then turn around and retrace your steps back to the parking lot.

For 16 miles – follow the main route – when you return to the canal turn left and run over to Turk Hill. Turn around and follow the canal back to the basin.

January 12, 2019 – Main St Fishers and Mile Square

And now for the routes….

Turn left out of the parking lot and take 96 to right on Fishers Rd. Turn left onto Benson, and then turn right on Lower Fishers. Turn left on Log Cabin, then turn right on Main St. Fishers. Follow this to Mile Square and turn right. Mile Square will change names to East. Turn right on Thornell, then right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 11 miles.

For 10 miles – on Benson, turn right on Log Cabin and rejoin the main route.

For 7 miles – on Fishers Rd, stay on Fishers Rd instead of getting on Benson. Turn right on Probst, then rejoin the main route when you turn right on Mile Square.

January 5, 2019 – Neuchatel, Steele and Blum

Post-Run Coffee Destination for January 5, 2019 – The Village Bakery and Cafe at Eastview Mall. Park near PF Changs and look for the Blue Rooster

Turn left out of the parking lot and head up 96 towards the mall. Turn left onto Moseley, then turn right on Neuchatel. Turn left on Beauclaire, cross over Turk and head up Steele. Turn left on Thayer, then go straight to continue on Bluhm. Turn right on Egypt-Victor Rd, then right on Valentown. Turn right on High St, then right on 96 and return to the parking lot. Distance is 12.5 miles.

For 10.9 miles – at the top of Steele, turn right, head down Baker. Turn right on Valentown, then turn left on 96. Turn right on Benson, then right on Fishers Rd, and then left on 96
