August 3, 2019 – Cartersville Trail and Knickerbocker Hill

Post-run coffee – If the weather is good – picnic table next to the Marathon Station by the canal.  If the weather is bad –  Panera Bread past the mall on 96.

Turn left out of the parking lot. Pick up the Cartersville Trail behind the Marathon Gas Station. Follow the Cartersville trail along the south side of the canal until you are across 96 from Knickerbocker. Turn left onto Knickbocker, and head up the hill. Turn right on Pittsford Mendon Rd. At the 4 way intersection, go straight onto Stone. Tobey and Stone will run together, then go left to stay on Stone. Turn right on Clover, then pick up the canal and head back to the basin. Distance is 11.3 miles.

You can cut the route short by a half-mile (and avoid a large hill) by staying on Tobey over to Clover (10.8 miles)

For 13.7 miles – follow the main route. When you reach the canal- head west on the canal to the JCC – then turn around and return to the basin.

For 8.5 miles – follow the main route until you get to the 4 way intersection with Stone. Turn right and follow this to the canal, then follow the canal back to the basin.

July 27, 2019 – Perinton Bike Hike Way and Ayrault Rd

Post-run coffee – If the weather is good – picnic table next to the Marathon Station by the canal.  If the weather is bad –  Panera Bread past the mall on 96.

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Take the pedestrian bridge across the canal after you pass Turk Hill, which puts you on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.

For 10.3 miles, turn right on Ayrault Rd, then return to the basin on the canal.

For 12 miles stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Hogan. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 13.7 miles, stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Mason. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 15.5 miles, take the Perinton Bike Hike Way across Rt 31 and continue to Lollypop. Turn left on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right on Rt 31, then left on Aldrich. Take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 7 miles – I recommend out and back on the canal to Perinton Town Park.

July 20, 2018 – Trails of Powder Mills Park

Post-run coffee – If the weather is good – picnic tables next to the Marathon Station by the canal.  If the weather is bad –  Panera Bread past the mall on 96.

It is supposed to be very hot and humid this Saturday – therefore I propose running/walking around Powder Mills Park and only going until you get hot.

As there are many trails that you can take – I will leave it up to each runner to explore the many different options.

For those who prefer to stay on roads, here are some options

For 9.3 miles – Left out of the parking lot, right on Park Rd. Turn left on Corduroy, then right on Woolston. Turn right on Railroad Mills, then left on Park Rd. Turn left on East, then left on Probst. Continue straight and head up Railroad Mills. Turn left on Fishers Rd, then left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

For 10.5 miles – follow the 9.3 mile route until you are on Probst. At the intersection with the Auburn Trail, turn right. Then take a left on Fishers Rd, and rejoin the 9.3 mile route.

For 11.9 miles – follow the 10.5 mile route- and when the Auburn Trail reaches Fishers Rd, continue on the Auburn Trail into Fishers. Turn left on Main St Fishers, then left on Log Cabin. Turn left on Benson, then right on Fishers Rd. Return thru Powder Mills Park.

For 14.6 miles – follow the 11.9 mile route – at Main St Fishers, turn right and then left on Wangum. Turn right on the Lehigh Trail, then take the ramp down to the Auburn Trail. Turn left on the Auburn Trail and follow this back to Main St Fishers. Turn right on Main St Fishers, then left on Log Cabin, rejoining the 11.9 mile route.

July 13, 2019 – Indian Hill Section of the Crescent Trail

Post-run coffee – If the weather is good – picnic table next to the Marathon Station by the canal.  If the weather is bad –  Panera Bread past the mall on 96.

Turn left on 96, then left on Garnsey, turn left on Turk Hill, then right on 31.  Turn right onto the parking area for Indian Hill.  Take whatever trail up the hill you want to up to the top.  Head over to the far side of the big open field and pick up the orange trail over to the pine tree farm.  Stay on orange out to Turk Hill. Turn right on Turk Hill, then left on Garnsey and return to the parking lot. Distance is about 9 miles.

You can increase the distance by turning left on Turk Hill and then picking up the Crescent Trail off Turk Hill on the right after you pass by Beaumont.  Follow the Crescent Trail back to Garnsey then out to the Park and Ride

For mostly roads,

Stay on Rt. 31 beyond the parking area of Indian Hill– turn right on Thayer, right on Steele, cross over Turk into Beaumont, right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill, left on Garnsey and back to the basin.  Or turn right on Turk Hill and then right to go into the Lilac Nursery. Distance is 10 miles.

For 11.2 – on Turk Hill continue heading north across Rt. 31. Turn right on Ayrault, then pick up the Perinton Bike Hike Way and turn right.  Turn right on Hogan, then left on 31.  Turn right onto Thayer and rejoin the 10 mile route.

For 12.4 – stay on Turk Hill until you get to Pebble Hill Rd.  Turn right on Pebble Hill Rd, then right on Perinton Bike Hike Way and rejoin the 11.2 mile route.

For 14.2 – take Turk Hill to the canal – get on the canal and head east, then cross over the canal to continue on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.  Take the Bike Hike Way all the way to Rt. 31.  Turn right on 31, then left on Thayer, rejoining the 10 mile route.

July 6, 2019 – Cartersville Trail to Auburn Trail

If the weather is bad –  Panera Bread past the mall on 96.

Turn right out of the parking lot and run 96 towards the Basin. Pick up the Cartersville trail between Marsh Road and the Marathon gas station, Follow this trail along the south side of the canal past the old coffee shop. Keep the parking lot to your left, continue with the canal on your right. Stay on the trail until you are almost across from Knickerbocker. Cross over 96 and get on the Auburn Trail. This will bring you to Mill Road – bear right. Cross over Thornell to stay on the Auburn Trail – this will bring you to a driveway that leads to East St. Cross over East St and stay on the Auburn Trail, picking up the trail behind the power substation. Cross over Railroad Mills to stay on Auburn Trail

For 7.8 miles – turn left Woolston, then left on Corduroy. Turn right on Park Rd, then left on 96 and return to the parking lot
