Turn left out of the parking lot. Turn right on Park Rd, left on Corduroy, then right on Woolston. Turn left on Sturbridge, then left on Fall Meadow. Turn left on East St.  East changes names to Mile Square.

For 8 miles – turn left on Probst, continue straight on Railroad Mills. Turn left on Fishers Rd, then left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

For 10.5 miles – from Mile Square, turn left on Main St. Fishers, then left on Fishers Rd. Turn left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

For 11.7 miles – from Mile Square, turn left onto the Lehigh Trail. Turn left on Wangum. Turn left on Main St Fishers, then right on Fishers Rd. Turn left on 96 and return to the parking lot

For 13.3 miles – from Mile Square, turn left onto the Lehigh Trail. Connect to the Auburn trail and turn left. Follow the Auburn Trail to Fishers Rd. Turn right on Fishers Rd, then turn left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

For 15.3 miles – from Mile Square, turn left onto the Lehigh Trail. Continue on the Lehigh trail to the end – head out to 251. Turn right on 251, then right on the Auburn Trail. Follow the Auburn Trail to Fishers Rd. Turn right on Fishers Rd, then turn left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

Trails and Roads –  head out the canal towards Fairport.  Exit onto Ayrault and head east.  Turn right on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.  Cross over Hogan, then turn left on Mason.  The trail may have changed due to the new housing – we used to pick up the orange trail on the right just before the creek.  You may have to continue on Mason and take the next right on Ranney Dr. When Ranney Dr. crosses over the creek – you can pick up the orange trail. Follow the orange trail over to Broadmoor.  Cross over Broadmoor.  Follow orange between the ponds, then bear to the right to follow orange over to Aldrich.  Turn right on Aldrich, then left into the White Brook Nature Center.  Turn left in the parking lot to continue on orange.  Follow the orange markers thru the park and you should come out (hitting white near the end) at the corner of Ayrault and Aldrich.  Follow Ayrault back the canal and return to the basin.  Distance is 13.9 miles.

Road Route – head out the canal towards Fairport.  Exit onto Ayrault and head east.  Turn right on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.  Follow this over to Egypt Victor Rd near Lollypop Farms.  Turn left on Egypt Victor Rd, right on 31, and the left on Aldrich.  Turn left onto Ayrault and follow this all the way back to the basin.  Distance is 12.8 miles.

Road route short cuts – from the Perinton Bike Hike Way – turn left on Mason, then left on Ayrault.  Distance is 11 miles.

Or turn left on Hogan, then left on Ayrault.  Distance is 9.3 miles.

TRAILS ONLY –for those who feel there are too many roads to get to the trails – meet at the Park and Ride – then car pool over with me to the parking lot on Ayrault on the left just past the  Perinton Bike Hike Way.  We will make it a loop by following the Hike way over to Mason, then pick up the Crescent Trail over to Broadmoor, the White Brook Nature Trails, then run along the south side of the canal all the way to the Perinton Bike Hike Way and back  to the cars.  8.3 miles or maybe more.

All routes head out the canal towards Pittsford

For 9 miles – take the trail on the right that connect to Marsh Road. Take Marsh Road, then turn left on Golf just before Powers Farm Market. Turn left on Washington, left on 96, then left onto the canal at Schoen Place and return to the parking lot.

All other routes continue on the canal. Turn right on the old Auburn Trail, cross over Mitchell and continue to Rt. 31. Cross over 31 and head onto the trail into the Senior Citizen Complex. Follow this trail back to Marsh Rd. Turn left on Marsh, then left on Golf.

For 10.1 miles – turn left on Washington, left on 96 then a left onto the canal at Schoen Place.

All other routes turn RIGHT on Washington, then left on Cranswick. Pick up the Wynd Woods Trail, almost straight across from Cranswick on Landsdowne Lane (a little to the right) Take the trail over to St. John Fisher taking right options. Turn around and continue to take right options to get back out on a slightly different path – return to Landsdowne Lane – and take a right. Turn left on 96.

For 12.3 miles, turn left onto the canal at Schoen Place and return to the parking lot.

For 15.6 miles, skip the section into Wynd’s Woods by turning left on Landsdowne Land from Cranswick. Turn left on 96, then pick up the Auburn Trail by turning right on Line then left on Grove. Auburn Trail will be on the right. Follow the Auburn Trail until you are across from the Springhouse – cross over 31 and follow the old canal path behind Wegmans to the canal and follow the canal all the way back to the parking lot.

Head out the canal path towards Fairport.  Exit the canal onto O’Connor.  Turn left on Whitney.  Whitney will turn into Five Mile Line Rd.  Turn left on Rt. 441, then left into Linear Park.  Cross over Irondequoit Creek and head up the hill.  Turn left on Lincoln Mills, left on Linden then right on Bluff.  Turn left into Eyer Park.  Take the trail over to Midvale – turn left.  Turn right on Baird, left into BOCES, then take the trail around the back.  Turn right on O’Connor and then right on the canal and back to the basin.  Distance is 13.5 miles.

For 11.8 miles, turn left on Linden from Whitney and then left on Bluff Dr., rejoining the main route

For 9.2 miles – on Whitney – turn left on Baird, then left into BOCES, rejoining the main trail

For 7.5 miles – run the canal until you get to O’Connor, then turn around and retrace your steps back to the parking lot.

For 16 miles – follow the main route – when you return to the canal turn left and run over to Turk Hill. Turn around and follow the canal back to the basin.

For a longer option with trails – on Whitney at Linden – go under the bridge along the creek to pick up the Linear Park Trail.  Run this all the way down to Panorama Plaza.  Return back up to Linear Park and then follow the usual route back.  Distance is 15.3 miles.

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Take the pedestrian bridge across the canal that connects to the Perinton Bike Hike Way. Follow the Bike Hike Way across Ayrault to Hogan. Turn right on Hogan, then left on 31. Turn right on Thayer, and at the intersection with Bluhm turn right to continue on Thayer. Turn right on Steele, cross over Turk Hill onto Beauclaire. Turn right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill, then left on Garnsey. A right on 96 will return you to the parking lot. Distance is 13.2 miles.

Trail Option – Stay on Perinton Bike Hike Way past Hogan. Pick up the Orange Trail on the right – cross over 31 and continue on the Orange Trail all the way to SCR Lane. Turn right on Steele, rejoining the main route

For 7.5 miles – run the canal path to Perinton Town Park and turn around at O’Connor.

For 10.3 miles – and a few less hills – follow the main route until the Bike Hike Way crosses Ayrault. Turn right on Ayrault and reconnect with the canal. Take the canal back to the basin.

For 11.4 miles – follow the main route until you get to 31. There, turn right on 31, then left on Turk Hill. Turn right on Garnsey, then right on 96.

For 14.8 miles – Follow the main route. Stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way all the way to Lollypop Farms. Turn around and run back to 31. Turn left on 31, then rejoin the main route by turning left on Thayer.

Head out the canal towards Pittsford. In the village, go past the railroad trestle and turn right into the Town Highway Department drive. Pick up the trail on the left that will connect over to the Auburn Trail. Cross over French and follow the trail until you are across the street from the Springhouse. Cross over 31 and pick up the old Erie Canal Trail that runs behind Wegmans. Follow this back across French Rd and connect back with the Barge Canal, and follow the canal all the way back to the Basin. Distance is 11.6 miles.

For around 8 miles, stay on the canal to the 2nd time Rt 31 crosses the canal, turn around and retrace your steps.

For 14.8 miles, follow the standard route. When the Old Erie Canal reconnects with the Barge Canal, turn right and run over to the JCC. Turn around and run all the way back to the basin along the towpath.

Head out the canal path towards Fairport.  Exit the canal with a left onto O’Connor.  Turn left on Whitney.  Whitney will turn into Five Mile Line Rd.  Turn left on Rt. 441, then left into Linear Park.  Cross over Irondequoit Creek and head up the hill.  Turn left on Lincoln Mills, left on Linden then right on Bluff.  Turn left into Eyer Park.  Take the trail over to Midvale – turn left.  Turn right on Baird, left into BOCES, then take the trail around the back.  Turn right on O’Connor and then right on the canal and back to the basin.  Distance is 13.5 miles.

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Go past Fairport and pick up the Perinton Bike Hike Way, taking the pedestrian bridge across the canal. Turn right on Ayrault, then take the canal back to the basin. Distance is 10.3 miles
