Turn left out of the parking lot. Turn left on Garnsey. After crossing over Moseley and before you get to Turk Hill, turn right on Vineyard Hill. Turn left on Neuchatel, then left on Beauclaire. Cross over Turk Hill and go up Steele. At the top, turn left on Thayer. Go straight to continue on Bluhm. Turn right on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right on Valentown. Turn right on High St and then right on 96 and return to the parking lot. Distance is 12.3 miles.

For 8.9 miles – at the top of Steele, turn right on Baker, then right on Valentown and rejoin the main route.

For 13 miles – from the main route, when on Egypt Victor Rd, turn left on Wilkinson, then right on Daley. Turn right on Richardson, then left on Egypt Victor Rd, rejoining the main route.

For 17 miles – follow the 15 mile route, and when on Wilkinson stay on Wilkinson past Pannell. Turn right on Wayneport Rd, then right on Pannell. Turn left on Cline, rejoining the 15 mile route.

Head out Marsh Rd. Turn right on Rt. 31, then turn left on Ayrault. From Ayrault, turn right on Hogan, then right on Rt. 31. Turn left on Turk Hill. Take a right on Garnsey and then right on 96 to return to the parking lot. Distance is 11 miles.

Turn left out of the parking lot. Turn right on Park Rd, then right on East. Turn left on Thornell. At the light, turn left on Mendon Rd. Turn left on Cole, then left on Mile Square. Turn right on Probst, then left on Railroad Mills, right on Woolston, left on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, left on 96 and return to the parking lot. Distance is 11 miles.

For 8 miles – when you get to East turn left. East changes to Mile Square. Turn left onto Probst and rejoin the main route.

Head out 96 towards the Mall. Turn left onto High St, then turn right on Willowbrook. Turn right on Rowley, then right on 96. Turn left on Benson, right on Fishers, then left on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 9.4 miles.

For 10 miles – add a trip through Powder Mills Park (from Fishers Rd – left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, left on 96.

For 12.8 – on High St, take a left on Valentown, then right on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right onto Cobble Creek Rd. Follow Cobble Creek Rd out to Gillis and turn right. Take a left onto High St, rejoining the 9.4 mile route (then turn right on Willowbrook. Turn right on Rowley, then right on 96. Turn left on Benson, right on Fishers, then left on 96 and back to the parking lot.)

For 13.7 – follow the 12.8 mile route – then on Egypt-Victor go past Cobble Creek Rd all the way to Aldridge. Right on Aldridge, right on High St, then left on Willowbrook to rejoin the main route.

Starting time: 7:00 am

Starting from the Parking lot at the end of Culver Rd.  Turn left out of the parking lot and head up the hill on Culver. (Sea Breeze Expressway will have too much snow to use the pathway). Stay on Culver past Titus and turn left onto Walzford. (The Titus to Kane Rd sidewalk is clogged with snow) Turn right onto Kane Rd. Turn left onto East Ridge Rd, and then take a right on Bay Shore Blvd.  Next take a right on Bay View Rd and head up the hill.   At the top of the hill turn left to stay on Bay View Rd, then turn left on Glen Haven Rd.  You will make a left to continue on Bay Front S.  Turn right to go up a steep hill – Orchard Park Blvd.  This will bring you to Empire.  Turn left on Empire – go down the hill and up the other side.  Turn left onto Bay Rd.  Follow Bay Rd until you cross over Rt. 104 and then take the first left – Volk Rd.  (This will get you away from the fast moving traffic on Bay Rd.)  Turn right on Dewitt.  At the tee-intersection turn right (Backus Rd) and that will bring you back to Bay Rd.  Turn left on Bay Rd.  Take a left at the tee with Lake Rd.  You have about a mile to go at this point.  Run across the bridge and back to your car.  The distance is 15.0 miles.

February 21, 2015 – A New Freezeroo Course

February 21, 2015 – And now for something totally different…..

This week should be another very cold start to the run. So I am thinking about trying to keep the route somewhat sheltered. In addition, I want to explore a new route for next year’s Freezeroo….

From the parking lot, turn left onto 96, then turn right on Park Rd. Turn left on Corduroy, then right on Woolston. Turn right on Railroad Mills, then turn left on Old Forge Lane. Take the first left onto Deer Creek Rd.  This will loop around and back to Old Forge. Turn right on Old Forge Lane, bringing you back to the first intersection. Take the other direction on Deer Creek by turning left.  Deer Creek will change names to Wandering Trail. Follow this to the end and turn around in the cul-de-sac. Retrace your route back to Old Forge Lane, turn left and back to Railroad Mills. Turn left, then take a left onto Sturbridge Lane. Take the next left onto Fall Meadow. Take this upto East, then turn around and return all the way to Railroad Mills. Turn left on Railroad Mills, then right on Park Rd. Return to 96, turn left and return to the parking lot. Distance is 8.6 miles.

For 11.5 miles – add a loop. When on Park Rd the second time heading from Railroad Mills towards 96 – turn right on Corduroy, right on Woolston, right on Railroads Mills and right on Park Road, then left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

For 13 miles – follow the 11.5 mile route until you get to Woolston/Railroad Mills. Turn left on Railroad Mills, and then at Probst turn left to continue on Railroad Mills. Turn left on Fishers Rd, left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd., left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

February 14, 2015 – Linear Park Run without Linear Park

This week’s route will be the basic Linear Park run with modifications to avoid trails, as the snow pack is going to be too much. Head out the canal path towards Fairport, exit onto O’Connor, then turn left on Whitney. Now comes the modifications.  Turn right on Baird, then left on Rt. 441, followed by a left onto Five Mile Line Rd. Turn right on Baird, go under the RR trestle, and continue to Rt. 31F. Turn left on 31F, then right on Jefferson Avenue. Turn left on Ayrault, then get on the canal and return to the basin. Distance is 12.7 miles.

For 14.3 miles – cross over 441 continuing on Baird. Then turn left on Whalen and a left on Five Mile Line. Reconnect with the main route.

For 8.8 miles – From Whitney, turn left on Baird (instead of right). Turn left on 31F, then right on Jefferson Avenue. Turn left on Ayrault, then get on the canal and return to the basin.

Turn right out of the parking lot, turn right on Marsh Rd.  Take Marsh to Golf – turn left on Golf, then left on Washington and left on East/N. Main St. Follow Main St. Turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then left on Knickerbocker. Take Knickerbocker over to 96 – turn right, then right on East. Turn left on Thornell and return to the basin, and the parking lot. Distance is 11.6 miles.

For 8.6 miles – when in Pittsford, get on the canal path and return to the basin.

For 14.3 miles – from S. Main St in Pittsford, instead of turning on Pittsford Mendon Rd, go straight on Mendon Center Rd. Turn left on Barker, then left on Pittsford Mendon Rd.  Turn right on Knickerbocker Rd. Take Knickerbocker over to 96 – turn right, then right on East. Turn left on Thornell and return to the basin, and the parking lot.

Head out 96 towards the mall.  Turn  left onto High St, then left onto Gillis.  Turn into Cobble Creek Development – take the first right – Cobble Creek Rd, then continue with the next right also Cobble Creek Rd.  Take a left on Egypt-Victor Rd, then a left on Valentown.  Turn right and head up Baker.  Turn left and head down Steele.  Cross over Turk and continue on Beauclaire – then turn right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill and then left on Garnsey.  A right on 96 will bring you back to the parking lot.  Distance is 12.1 miles

For a shorter run – 8.9 miles – on High St turn left on Valentown then turn left on Baker and rejoin the main route.

For 14.1 miles – on Gillis go past Cobble Creek, cross over Egypt-Victor Rd.  Turn left on Blazey, then left on Richardson, and then left on Egypt-Victor Rd.  Turn right on Valentown and rejoin the main route.

January 24, 2015 – Oven Door Freezeroo   This weekend is the Oven Door Freezeroo, hosted right here in Powder Mills Park.  In honor of that, we will run portions of the race route.  From the Park & Ride, turn left, then turn right on Park Rd.  Take Park Rd over to East St., and turn left.  East change names to Mile Square, then turn left onto Probst.  Take the left into Miles Cutting, and then turn right on Railroad Mills.  At the intersection with Probst, turn left to continue on Railroad Mills.  At the top of the hill, turn left on Fishers Rd.  Turn left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd and then left on 96 and back to the parking lot.  Distance is 8.7 miles

For a longer option, when you get to the top of Railroad Mills, turn right on  Fishers Rd and finish the rest of the standard Fishers Run.  Total Distance is 12.6 miles

(If there is not too much new snow, then when you get to the Railroad Mills/Probst intersection, you can take the Auburn Trail over to Main St. Fishers – distance is 12.2 without one major hill)
