April 13, 2019 – Perinton Bike Hike Way and Ayrault Rd

Post-run Coffee Location – FairPour Coffee Roasters, located on the canal in Fairport, 6North Main St. They open at 8:00 am. This week’s run should take us right past their location.

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Take the pedestrian bridge across the canal after you pass by Turk Hill, which puts you on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.

For 10.3 miles, turn right on Ayrault Rd, then return to the basin on the canal.

For 12 miles stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Hogan. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 13.7 miles, stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Mason. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 15.5 miles, take the Perinton Bike Hike Way across Rt 31 and continue to Lollypop. Turn left on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right on Rt 31, then left on Aldrich. Take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 7 miles – I recommend out and back on the canal to Perinton Town Park.

March 30, 2019 – Mendon Ponds Park


Post-run coffee – Panera Bread – located on Rt. 96. Take 96 past Eastview Mmall – located on the right side of the road past the turn in for BJs, before the McDonalds, across from Walmart.

Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn right on Park Rd. Turn right on East, then left on Thornell. Take the Thornell to the end, then turn left on W. Bloomfield. Cross over the Thruway, then turn right on Canfield. Turn right on Pittsford Mendon Center Rd. Turn right on Barker, then right on W. Bloomfield.  Turn left on Thornell and take this all the way back to the basin. Turn right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 11.9 miles.

For 7.4 miles – on Thornell, turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then left onto Van Voorhis. Turn left on East, then right on Thornell and back to the basin.

For 9.4 miles – on W. Bloomfield, turn left on Canfield just before you get to the Thruway. Turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then turn right on Van Voorhis. Turn left on East, then right on Thornell and back to the basin.

For 14.9 miles – on Canfield continue on straight past Mendon Center Rd to Clover. Turn right on Clover, then right on Willard. Turn right on Mendon Center Rd, then left on Barker. Turn right on W. Bloomfield.  Turn left on Thornell and take this all the way back to the basin. Turn right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is      14.9 miles.

March 23, 2019 – Garnsey Turk Steele and Bluhm


Post-run coffee – Starbucks at the Pittsford Library. Park behind the Library.

Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn left onto Garnsey.  Right on Turk, then left on Steele.  Turn left at the top of Steele and head down Thayer. Go straight onto Bluhm, then right on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right on Valentown, then right on High St. Take a right on 96 and return to the parking lot.  Distance is 12.4 miles.

For 6.6 miles – when on Turk Hill – Stay on Turk Hill past Steele. Turn right on 96 and back to the parking lot.

For 9.4 miles  – on Valentown, before you get to High St, look for a new road named Fernwood Trail on the right. Take Fernwood Trail – it will turn into High Point Drive. Turn right 96 and head back to the parking lot.

March 16, 2019 –Knickerbocker Hill.


Start time – 6:30 am

Start location – Park-and-Ride in Bushnell’s Basin.

After Run Meeting Location -Village Bakery Café at Eastview Mall

All routes – start by turning left out of the parking lot. Then turn right on Park Rd, right on East, left on Thornell and then a right on Mill. Turn left on East, then left on 96.

For 8 miles – turn right on Mitchell, then turn right on the Auburn Trail that takes you to the canal. Follow the Canal back to the basin.

For 9.4 miles – stay on 96 into Pittsford. Turn right on S. Main St, then turn right on State St. (Rt. 31). Pick up the canal and return to the basin.

For 10.7 miles – from 96, turn left onto Knickerbocker Rd and head up the hill. Turn right onto Mendon Rd, then at the stoplight turn right. Go into the village of Pittsford, turn right on 31 – State St. At the bridge over the canal- pick up the canal and take the canal back to the basin.

For 13.2 miles – from 96, turn left onto Knickerbocker Rd and head up the hill. Turn right onto Mendon Rd, then at the stoplight go straight onto Stone. Stay on Stone (turn left off Tobey). Turn right on Clover, cross over the canal and pick up the canal for the run back to the basin

March 9, 201 – Around the Bay


Starting Location: Parking lot at the end of Culver Rd in Irondequoit

Starting time: 7:00 am

Starting from the Parking lot at the end of Culver Rd.  Turn left out of the parking lot and turn left on the Sea Breeze Expressway. At Titus get on the right side of the Express way and take the sidewalk onto Kane. Turn left onto East Ridge Rd, and then take a right on Bay Shore Blvd.  Next take a right on Bay View Rd and head up the hill.   At the top of the hill turn left to stay on Bay View Rd, then turn left on Glen Haven Rd.  You will make a left to continue on Bay Front S.  Turn right to go up a steep hill – Orchard Park Blvd.  This will bring you to Empire.  Turn left on Empire – go down the hill and up the other side.  Turn left onto Bay Rd.  Follow Bay Rd until you cross over Rt. 104 and then take the first left – Volk Rd.  (This will get you away from the fast moving traffic on Bay Rd.)  Turn right on Dewitt.  At the tee-intersection turn right (Backus Rd) and that will bring you back to Bay Rd.  Turn left on Bay Rd.  Take a left at the tee with Lake Rd.  You have about a mile to go at this point.  Run across the bridge and back to your car.  The distance is 14.2 miles.

March 2, 2019 – Smith

Post-run coffee at Tim Horton’s in the basin

Turn left out of the parking lot. Turn right on Fishers Rd., then turn right on Railroad Mills. Go straight to continue on Probst. Turn left on Mile Square, then turn right on Smith. Cross over Mendon Rd, then cross over W. Bloomfield. There is a buffalo ranch on the right. Continue on Smith, then turn right on Mendon Center Rd. Turn right on Canfield, then left on W. Bloomfield followed by a right to continue on Canfield. Turn left on Mendon Rd, then right on Van Voorhis. Turn left on East, then right on Thornell. A right on 96 brings you back to the parking lot. Distance is 13.9 miles.

For 7.2 miles – Start with the main route. At Probst and Mile Square, turn right on Mile Square. Mile Square will turn into East. Then turn right on Thornell and back to the basin.

February 16, 2019 – Golf Rd and French Rd

Cindy has once again offered to host this weekend, so the plan is to meet at her house following the run. Cindy will give directions at the start of the run. Come as you are after your run!

Head out Marsh Rd towards Powers Farm Market. Turn left on Golf Rd. Cross over Washington and cut thru the cemetery to 96. Cross over 96 and continue on French Rd. Take French Rd over to Clover. Turn left on Clover, then pick up the canal and return to the basin. Distance is 12.7 miles.

February 9, 2019 – Gillis Rd

Post Run Coffee – Bruegger’s Bagels

All routes – turn left out of the parking lot and head up 96 to the Mall. Turn left onto High St Extension and then left onto High St.

For 12.1 miles – from High St, turn left on Gillis, then left on Cobble Creek Rd. Take the first two right turns to contine on Cobble Creek Rd. Turn left on Egypt Victor Rd, then left on Valentown. Turn right to head up Baker, then left on Steele. Cross over Turk Hill and continue on Beauclaire. Turn right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill, then left on Garnsey. Turn right on 96 and return to the parking lot.

For 8.9 miles – from High St, turn left on Valentown, then left on Baker.  Left on Steele, cross over Turk Hill and continue on Beauclaire. Turn right on Neuchatel, right on Vineyard Hill, then left on Garnsey. Turn right on 96 and return to the parking lot.

February 2, 2019 –The Fishers Run


Post Run Coffee – The Village Bakery and Café at Eastview Mall.

Given that Saturday morning is still cold – I thought something a little sheltered would be in order – and the Fishers Run seemed like a good plan.

The traditional Fishers Run, from the parking lot is 9.5 miles – Turn left onto 96, right on Park Rd.  Turn left on Corduroy, and then left on Woolston.  Turn right on Fishers Rd, then left on Main St. Fishers.  Turn left on Log Cabin, then right on Lower Fishers, and then left on Benson.  Turn right on Fishers Rd, then return thru Powder Mills Park (left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd)  Turn left on 96 and back to the parking lot.

Note: You can skip the Lower Fishers option by staying on Log Cabin. This shortens any route by 1 mile.

You can skip Powder Mills Park on the way back by staying on Fishers Rd to 96. This shortens any route by 0.5 miles

For 7.5 miles – take 96 directly to Fishers Rd. Left on Main St. Fishers, then left on Log Cabin. Stay on Log Cabin, then left on Benson, right on Fishers Rd, then left on 96.
