Lots of turns in this week’s route – not to mention a few hills – I’ll try to write it in an easy to follow format…

Turn right out of the parking lot on 96.

Right on Kreag.

Right on Ayrault.

Right on Perinton Bike Hike Way

Cross over Hogan.

Right on Mason.

Left on Rt. 31 –

Immediate right to continue on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.

Right on Victor Rd. (Or it may be labeled Victor-Egypt )

Right on Bluhm.

Straight at the intersection with Thayer – road changes name to Thayer.

Right on Steele.

Cross over Turk.

Right on Neuchatel.

Right on Vineyard Hill.

Left on Garnsey.

Right on 96 – return to the parking lot.

Distance is 12.3 miles

June 29, 2024 – Into and Around Pittsford

Head out the canal towards Pittsford.

Take the trail on the right around the soccer fields, which will bring you back to the canal. Then take the Auburn trail on the right just past the flood control gate. Cross over Mitchell, then at the power line turn right to cross over Rt. 31. Turn right on the sidewalk trail that parallels Rt. 31. Turn left onto Marsh, then a left onto the old Trolley Trail. Follow the Trolley Trail thru the Highlands at Pittsford and come out back to 31. Turn right on 31, then right onto the canal at Schoen Place. Turn right on 96/N. Main St, then right on Washington. Turn left on Cranswick Lane. Bear left to stay on Cranswick, passing by Landsdown Lane. You will come up on Landsdown Lane a second time – cross over to pick up the Wynd Woods Trail, almost straight across from Cranswick on Landsdowne Lane (a little to the right) Take the trail over to St. John Fisher taking right options. Turn around and continue to take right options to get back out on a slightly different path – return to Landsdowne Lane – and take a right. Turn left on 96, then turn left onto the canal at Schoen Place and return to the parking lot. Consider turning left under the power line to return along the Auburn Trail and also consider another trip on the trails around the soccer fields

If you cut out the loop around Highlands by turning left on 31 as you come out from the Auburn trail, you will shorten the distance by 1.5 miles.

If you cut out the loop starting at Schoen Place, you will shorten the route by 2.5 miles.

You can add distance by heading west on the canal when you return from the Wynd Woods loop. Clover is 1.5 miles from Schoen Place, so plan accordingly.

June 22, 2024 -Trucking up Turk

Take the canal path to Fairport, exiting on Turk Hill at the far end of the village. Take Turk Hill Road south all the way to Rt. 96. Turn right and return to the parking lot.

Short-cut – on Turk, turn right on Garnsey, then right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 10.5 miles

Shorter -cut – on the canal take Ayrault over to Turk and return on Garnsey. 7.6 miles

June 15, 2024 – Carterville Trail and Auburn Trail

Turn right out of the parking lot and run 96 towards the Basin. Pick up the Cartersville trail on the right, between Marsh Road and the Marathon gas station, Stay on the trail until you are almost across from Knickerbocker. Cross over 96 and get on the Auburn Trail from the parking area.  Cross over Mill Rd, and then cross over Thornell to stay on the Auburn Trail – this will bring you to a driveway that leads to East St. Cross over East St and stay on the Auburn Trail, picking up the trail behind the power substation. Cross over Railroad Mills to stay on Auburn Trail

For 7.8 miles – turn left Woolston, then left on Corduroy. Turn right on Park Rd, then left on 96 and return to the parking lot

For 9.4 miles – Stay on the Auburn Trail to Probst/Railroad Mills intersection. Turn left and head up the big hill. Turn left on Fishers Rd, then left on Woolston, right on Corduroy,right on Park Rd, then left on 96.

For 10.6 miles – stay on the Auburn Trail to Fishers Rd. Turn left on Fishers Rd, left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, then left on 96.

For 11.9 miles – stay on Auburn Trail to Main St Fishers. Turn right, then right on Fishers Rd. Left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, then left on 96.

For 14.4 miles – stay on the Auburn Trail to the Lehigh Trail. Turn right onto the Lehigh trail. At Wangum Rd, turn right , then left on Main St. Fishers, then right on Fishers Rd. Left on Woolston, right on Corduroy, right on Park Rd, then left on 96.

June 8, 2024 = Woodcliff and a whole lotta hills

From the parking lot, turn left on 96. Turn left on Woodcliff, then right on Moseley. Turn left on Neuchatel, left on Beauclaire, then cross over Turk and head up Steele. Turn left on Thayer. At the intersection with Bluhm go straight onto Bluhm. Turn left on Loud. Turn left on 31.

Take a left onto Turk and then a right on Garnsey. Turn right on 96 and return to the parking lot. Distance is 12.1 hilly miles.

If you turn left from Thayer to stay on Thayer and rejoin the main route on 31, you will cut off about a mile.

If when you get to Turk Hill the first time you turn left on Turk, then return with a left on Garnsey, the distance is 7.6 miles.
