I will not be there this weekend and neither will Dan,  so you will have to get yourselves started this week.

Turn left out of the parking lot. Turn right on Fishers Rd. Bear right at the pond to continue on Fishers, then turn right on Railroad Mills. Continue straight on Probst. Turn left on Miles Square, then right on Cole. Turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then left on Smith. Turn right on Miles Square, then left on Main St Fishers. Turn left on Fisher Rd and run this back to 96, turn left and return to the parking lot. Distance is 11.7 miles.

For 9.5 miles – Stay on Mile Square past Cole and turn left on Main St Fishers, then left on Fishers Rd. Left on 96 and back to the parking lot

For 12.7 – follow the main route – when on Pittsford Mendon Rd, go past Smith, then turn left on Rt. 251, then left on Mile Square. Turn right on Main St. Fishers and rejoin the main route.

For 13.8 –miles –follow the main route – when on Pittsford Mendon Rd. go past Smith, go past Rt. 251, then turn left on Taylor, then left on Mile Square. Turn right on Main St Fishers and rejoin the main route

For 7.4 miles – Follow the main route. When you get to Mile Square, turn right. Then turn right on Park Rd. Turn left on 96 and return to the parking lot.

July 22, 2017 – Perinton Bike Hike Way and Ayrault Rd

Head out the canal towards Fairport. Take the pedestrian bridge across the canal after you pass by Turk Hill, which puts you on the Perinton Bike Hike Way.

For 10.3 miles, turn right on Ayrault Rd, then return to the basin on the canal.

For 12 miles stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Hogan. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 13.7 miles, stay on the Perinton Bike Hike Way to Mason. Turn left, then take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 15.5 miles, take the Perinton Bike Hike Way across Rt 31 and continue to Lollypop. Turn left on Egypt-Victor Rd. Turn right on Rt 31, then left on Aldrich. Take a left on Ayrault, and pick up the canal to return to the basin.

For 7 miles – I recommend out and back on the canal to Perinton Town Park.

July 8 and July 15, 2017 – Mendon Ponds Park, then Springhouse Run

I will be out of town the next two weekends. I am posting two routes to keep you busy. Dan Kress has offered fire the gun each weekend. If he sends you on hill repeats of Garnsey, you can ignore him and try the following routes instead….

July 8, 2016 – Mendon Ponds Park

Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn right on Park Rd. Turn right on East, then left on Thornell. Take the Thornell to the end, then turn left on W. Bloomfield. Cross over the Thruway, then turn right on Canfield. Turn right on Pittsford Mendon Center Rd. Turn right on Barker, then right on W. Bloomfield.  Turn left on Thornell and take this all the way back to the basin. Turn right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is 11.9 miles.

For 7.4 miles – on Thornell, turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then left onto Van Voorhis. Turn left on East, then right on Thornell and back to the basin.

For 9.4 miles – on W. Bloomfield, turn left on Canfield just before you get to the Thruway. Turn left on Pittsford Mendon Rd, then turn right on Van Voorhis. Turn left on East, then right on Thornell and back to the basin.

For 14.9 miles – on Canfield continue on straight past Mendon Center Rd to Clover. Turn right on Clover, then right on Willard. Turn right on Mendon Center Rd, then left on Barker. Turn right on W. Bloomfield.  Turn left on Thornell and take this all the way back to the basin. Turn right on 96 and back to the parking lot. Distance is      14.9 miles.

July 15, 2017 – Springhouse Run

Head out the canal towards Pittsford. In the village, go past the railroad trestle and turn right into the Town Highway Department drive. Pick up the trail on the left that will connect over to the Auburn Trail. Cross over French and follow the trail until you are across the street from the Springhouse Commons. Cross over 31 and pick up the old Erie Canal Trail that runs behind Wegmans. Follow this back across French Rd and connect back with the Barge Canal, and follow the canal all the way back to the Basin. Distance is 11.6 miles.

For around 8 miles, stay on the canal to the 2nd time Rt 31 crosses the canal, turn around and retrace your steps.

For 14.8 miles, follow the standard route. When the Old Erie Canal reconnects with the Barge Canal, turn right and run over to the JCC. Turn around and run all the way back to the basin along the towpath.
