Head out the canal towards Pittsford. In the village, go past the railroad trestle and turn right into the Town Highway Department drive. Pick up the trail on the left that will connect over to the Auburn Trail. Cross over French and follow the trail until you are across the street from the Springhouse Commons. Cross over 31 and pick up the old Erie Canal Trail that runs behind Wegmans. Follow this back across French Rd and connect back with the Barge Canal, and follow the canal all the way back to the Basin. Distance is 11.6 miles.

For around 8 miles, stay on the canal to the 2nd time Rt 31 crosses the canal, turn around and retrace your steps.

For 14.8 miles, follow the standard route. When the Old Erie Canal reconnects with the Barge Canal, turn right and run over to the JCC. Turn around and run all the way back to the basin along the towpath.

Turn left out of the parking lot, then turn right onto Park Rd. Turn left on Corduroy, then take a right on Woolston. Just before Woolston runs into Railroad Mills, turn left onto the Auburn Trail.

For 8 miles, stay on the Auburn Trail until you come to Fishers Rd. Turn around and re-trace your path back to the parking lot.

For 9 miles, turn around at Main St. Fishers.

For 11 miles, turn around at Phillips Rd.

For 13.5 miles – stay on the Auburn Trail until you get to Rt. 251. Turn left on Rt. 251, and take the first left into Lehigh Crossing Park. Take the first trail on the right – this will connect you to the Lehigh Trail. You will cross over the Auburn Trail – then take the ramp on the right that will connect you with the Auburn Trail. Re-trace your path to the parking lot.

If you need something longer, stay on the Auburn Trail until you are half-tired, then return the way you came.

There is a nice little trail loop that you might want to consider – shortly after you cross over Main St. Fishers, there is a wooden Indian statue next to a bridge on the right. Cross over the bridge and follow the trail. Take right options – then loop back to the bridge. Distance is estimated to be 10.5 miles if you return back to the parking lot after running the trail.

Turn left out of the parking lot and head up 96. Turn left on Woodcliff and then turn right on Moseley. Turn left on Neuchatel, follow this over to beauclaire, turn left and then cross over Turk Hill, head up Steele. At the top of Steele, turn left onto Thayer. At the Bluhm-Thayer intersection, turn left to continue on Thayer. Turn left on 31, then left on Turk Hill. A right on Garnsey will bring you back to the basin. Distance is 11.0 miles.

For 12.1 miles – at the Bluhm/Thayer Intersection – go straight on Bluhm. Turn left on Loud, then left on 31 and rejoin the main route.

For 13.1 miles take Blum all the way to Egypt Victor Rd. Turn left on Egypt Victor Rd., then take a left on the Perinton Bike Hike Way just past Lollypop. At 31 turn left and rejoin the main route.

For 15.1 miles – on the 13.1 mile route – turn right at Egypt Victor Rd, then left on Wilkinson. Turn left on Pannell, then turn left onto the Perinton Bike Hike Way, cross back over  Egypt Victor Rd, rejoining the 13.1 mile route.

For 7.5 miles – when you get to Turk Hill from Beauclaire, turn left, then a left on Garnsey and back to the parking lot.

 For a fun trail option – follow the main route until you are on the beginning of Neuchatel. Take the first right – Cressler Ct. Turn left onto the Crescent Trail (White Blazes?). Then connect with the Orange Trail and follow the orange trail all the way back to Garnsey. Turn left then a right on 96 back to the parking lot.

All Routes – begin by turning right out of the parking lot. Turn right on Marsh Rd and stay on Marsh after crossing over the canal. Cross over Rt. 31, then take a left onto the old trolley trail. Follow the trail thru the senior citizen complex out to 31. Cross over 31 and pick up the old Auburn Trail on the left (avoid going straight under the powerlines). At Mitchell, turn right, cross over the canal, then turn left on 96. Turn right on Knickerbocker, but look for the trail connection on the left before you go very far. This trail is a continuation of the old Auburn Trail. It will come out on Mill Rd. Take Mill over to Thornell and cross over Thornell to continue on the Auburn Trail. This will take you to East St.

For 8.5 miles – cross over East and pick up Park Rd. Take Park to 96 where a left turn returns you to the parking lot.

For 9.7 miles – go to Park Rd, – turn right to pick up the trail near the power substation. Follow the old Auburn Trail across Railroad Mills over to Woolston. Turn left on Woolston, then left on Fishers Rd and left on 96 to return to the parking lot.

For 10.8 miles – stay on Auburn Trail to the Railroad Mills/Probst intersection. Turn left to continue on Railroad Mills – head up the big hill. Turn left on Fishers Rd, then left on 96 to return to the parking lot

For 13.4 miles – stay on Auburn Trail to Main St. Fishers. Turn left, then left on Log Cabin. Left on Benson, followed by a right on Fishers Rd, then take a left on 96 to return to the parking lot.

For 14.9 miles – on Log Cabin – take Lower Fishers on the right, then left on Benson, right on Fishers Rd.  Come back thru Powder Mills Park (Woolston, Corduroy, Park Rd, 96) and then back to the parking lot
